Livia Firth, accompanied by husband Colin, kicked off another season of the Green Carpet Challenge (GCC) at the 72nd annual Golden Globes in Los Angeles last month.   This marks the GCC’s 4th year.  Livia launched the project in an effort to bring awareness to the need to improve the supply chain in the fashion industry in order to eliminate the destruction and suffering it leaves in its wake, as well as to demonstrate that high style and ethics are not mutually exclusive.

The Golden Globes 2015 edition of the GCC did not disappoint.  Livia’s beautiful black and white full length gown was created by award winning, Canadian born and now London based designer Erdem and was made of Oeko-Tex, a sustainable silk textile.  Not to be outdone, her date for the evening’s suit was a Tom Ford organic wool suit.  The suit also merits a recycled/repurposed label, as it is the same suit Colin wore at the 2011 Oscars, when he won Best Actor for his role in The King’s Speech.

Looking forward to see what the Green Carpet Challenge has in store at this year’s Oscars Red Carpet.
