Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Group of Companies including Virgin Records has been championing alternative energies for some time now and based on recent interviews his plans are to turn both Necker Island and his latest acquisition Moskito Island into zero emission luxury resorts by making optimal use of solar, wind and wave energy.  His ultimate hope is that this will encourage other Caribbean islands to do the same.
